Acupuncture for ACC & Injuries

Acupuncture has been used for over 2,000 years to treat pain and injury. Grounded in Traditional Chinese Medicine, it works by promoting the free flow of Qi (energy) and blood, reducing inflammation, and stimulating the body’s natural healing response.

ACC & Acupuncture in New Zealand

New Zealand’s Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) helps cover the cost of injury-related treatments, including acupuncture, for eligible citizens, residents, and visitors.

What you need to know:

  • Acupuncturists cannot lodge a claim on your behalf - you’ll need a valid ACC45 number from your GP, physio, or other health provider.

  • Once your claim is approved, you may receive up to 12 subsidised acupuncture treatments, provided they’re appropriate to your injury and within the allowed time frame.

  • You don’t need a referral to see an acupuncturist once your ACC number is active.

  • Treatments at our clinic incur a small co-payment, significantly reducing the standard session fee.

Melissa is fully registered with the Chinese Medicine Council of New Zealand, holds a current practising certificate, and is ACC-accredited. You can feel confident you’re receiving treatment from a qualified, experienced practitioner who meets all ACC eligibility requirements.
